Behind the Lens: Madison Zehnder

Having grown up in Michigan, my passion for hospitality began at an early age and eventually led me to graduate from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University with a degree in Hospitality Business. My background has given me more than an appreciation for exceptional spaces and experiences; it has given me an understanding of the businesses, people, and attention to detail that bring them to life.

Traveling from a young age introduced me to different cultures, perspectives, and ways of experiencing hospitality. These experiences shaped my appreciation for the details that make each place unique and memorable, inspiring me to capture those qualities through photography.

Through Curated View Media, I bring these perspectives together, combining a hospitality business background with a considered approach to visual storytelling. My work goes beyond creating images for the sake of visibility. I approach every project with the individual business in mind: its character, its audience, and the experience it wants to communicate. I strive to see beyond what is immediately visible, anticipating the details, moments, and perspectives that a business may not have considered but that can make all the difference in how its story is told.

For me, photography is about more than documenting a space. It is about understanding what makes it special and translating that into imagery that resonates with the people who experience it, whether in person or through a photograph.
